Piero Fornasetti (1913 - 1988)

Piero Fornasetti, Milan designer, took a 19th century image and converted it into hundreds of variations. Above are some of his plates featuring the face of a woman, operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri, as a motif. LINK
Watch an animated bee buzz around this face (and read more info) here:

More Drawing (Crehore)

Detail of "Distant Storm" by Amy Crehore 2010
"Distant Storm" by Amy Crehore 2010
Here's my latest drawing, "Distant Storm". I'm working on acid-free Kraft paper with pencil and gouache. I have some group shows in 2011, two in NYC and one in Italy, so I am gearing up to paint again by doing some drawings. (Here's a link to my last drawing.) I am just letting it flow and seeing what comes out.

Here's an atomic moth embedded in a nighttime tapestry of fireworks above the old navy pier.

I painted a ukulele last year and named it "The Moth": LINK
