Piero Fornasetti (1913 - 1988)
Piero Fornasetti, Milan designer, took a 19th century image and converted it into hundreds of variations. Above are some of his plates featuring the face of a woman, operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri, as a motif. LINK

Here's my latest drawing, "Distant Storm". I'm working on acid-free Kraft paper with pencil and gouache. I have some group shows in 2011, two in NYC and one in Italy, so I am gearing up to paint again by doing some drawings. (Here's a link to my last drawing.) I am just letting it flow and seeing what comes out.
