Pussycat, pussycat

Yes, she does look pretty in pink. And blue and white.
Totally wigged-out idea! I wonder if my cat would go for that?

Number Two Tickler Uke Coming...

I want to thank all of the people who ordered my new t-shirt and all of the blogs that blogged about it and my art: Boingboing , Drawn! , Juxtapoz , J-Walk , Uke Hunt , ArtNYC, Fanpotai , Swankie Schedule , i hate peas , butternutcomics , daily yoghurt ,to name a few. And, thanks to the people who sent me some nice feedback.

About my new ukulele which is due out in February: I actually designed the uke itself, so it will not be a standard-looking uke like the last one. It is more detailed in it's construction and it will have some very special features that only a luthier could accomplish. That is why it is taking so long for the luthier (Lou Reimuller) to build it. It's entirely hand-crafted from scratch and it's a brand new uke design, yet it's still very traditional in it's own way.

Chloe and Picasso

Painting by Picasso
Chloe's wall of drawings

I "met" this lovely, intellectual British artist last year named Chloe Cumming. She's erumpent, you know, and she has been making some "sugar walls". She blogged this wall of drawings and she blogged this Picasso. Yes, I can definitely see a connection.
She draws wrestler men and they are as fascinating and wiggly as this Picasso. And she is right, Picasso drew cartoons. We all do.
See for yourself and enjoy:

Town of Luthiers

There is a town in Mexico called
with a statue of a luthier in the main plaza. "Paracho is the home of some of the best luthiers in Mexico, if not the world. Guitar shops line the main street entering town. But, the best guitars are made by luthiers working out of their homes on the back streets of the town." link
There is even a giant guitar on the main road.
